The Afa Gallery was founded in 1988 as an artists cooperative by Artists for Art to present the work of regional artists and raise community awareness of visual arts. It is a volunteer-run organization and membership is open to everyone. New exhibits are generally mounted monthly with receptions held first Fridays. Special events include an annual art auction in November.
Use colorful dyed wool fleeces, soapy water and friction to create a small felted vessel decorated with a felted bead. All supplies included.
Features works by Mitchell Lewis, Jules Perlmetter and Jackie Thomas.
Works will be on display in the Second Floor Gallery. Opening reception, Aug. 4, from 6 to 9 p.m.
